Nov. 24, 2013: Thanksgiving in Idaho

November 25, 2013

We’re headed to Idaho tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with my niece. We did some searching on the Internet and found that the Aryan Nations was founded and based there; and although the organization split up and moved to other states, it looks like a small group still resides in Idaho. They are mainly about race and religion, according to Wikipedia. And many organized religions and religious groups are unfriendly to the LGBT community. Scary.

However, we also found that Idaho has gotten more LGBT-friendly in recent years, with people living out and proud and LGBT groups forming. And I heard that it’s a beautiful, scenic state. So we’re excited to go. But I’m glad we live in California.
